                            ABOUT THE HOUSE AND HOST

Many original details were retained during the restoration of the house including the wide pine floors, interior doors, and hardware. The Mary Hunt House B&B is beautifully decorated with antiques, quilts, family heirlooms, and handmade carpets.
The furnishings have been collected over the years during my travels to Turkey and antiquing in Vermont and upstate New York. Guests often ask where the name of the B&B came from. I bought the house as a weekend house in 1989 from a woman named Mary Hunt and decided to honor her memory by naming the B&B for her when I opened in 2013. The B&B is located seven miles east of Ithaca and is convenient to downtown Ithaca, Cornell University, and Ithaca College. Guests will also find State Parks and wineries within a short drive.
The Mary Hunt House is a restored circa 1815 Greek Revival house built on land adjacent to the site of the first town meeting of Slaterville Springs held in 1811.
The host of Mary Hunt House
I was born and raised in the Ithaca area just four miles from where the Mary Hunt House Bed & Breakfast is located. I have spent time in all of the local New York State Parks and am happy to share my experiences with you.  I am happy to share information about my other favorite places and restaurants. I worked in Boston and New York City and spent my weekends in Ithaca and Vermont. When my cousins opened their Bed & Breakfast in Ithaca, I decided I would also enjoy hosting guests in my home outside of Ithaca.
